El Camino Real de los Tejas Comprehensive Management Plan/Environmental Assessment

El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail » El Camino Real de los Tejas Comprehensive Management Plan/Environmental Assessment » Document List

Dear Friends of El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail

Welcome to the Comprehensive Management Plan website for this national historic trail (NHT). As you may know, Congress authorized the NHT in 2004 as an addition to the National Trails System. Development of a Comprehensive Management Plan and Environmental Assessment for El Camino Real de los Tejas is now complete.

Public meetings were held in eight locations in Texas and Louisiana, in April-May, 2007. Data gathering was on-going throughout 2007-2008, and writing of the draft plan occurred in 2009 and 2010.

The comment period on the draft Comprehensive Management Plan/Environmental Assessment for the NHT closed December 31, 2010. Public comments were addessed and a final Comprehensive Management Plan/Environmental Assessment for the NHT was printed in September 2011.

We encourage you to learn more about the national historic trail by visiting www.nps.gov/elte

Working together we can protect the resources, develop partner relationships, and tell the stories of El Camino Real de los Tejas.

Sincerely,

Aaron Mahr Yáñez
