Travel Maps

The Manti-La Sal National Forest has created Travel Maps for the Ferron-Price, Sanpete, and Moab-Monticello districts showing ownership, campgrounds, waterways and contours. The maps are available online and are updated annually. The most current maps usually become available online in early May. Hard copies are available at Forest Service Offices later in May. These maps display officially designated motorized roads and trails, as found on the annual Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM). The Travel Maps generally have more context than the MVUMs and are considered more useful for customers. However, Motor vehicle use maps (MVUM)  are prepared and issued under 36 CFR 212.56, and identify those forest roads, trails, and areas designated for motor vehicle use.  MVUMs are legal documents and should be relied on as such. Travel Maps are not. Both maps are posted here and an MVUM can be printed for you at any Forest Service Office. Travel Maps and MVUM are distributed free of charge.
