Final Environmental Impact Statement
The Wallowa-Whitman National Forest completed the Invasive Plants Treatment Project Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) to provide guidance for containing, controlling, or eradicating invasive plant species in accordance with the direction found in the Region 6 Invasive Plant FEIS and ROD.
A large number of new and existing invasive plant populations on the national forest required analysis to implement new or more effective and cost-efficient treatment actions, including the updated list of herbicides, as analyzed in the Region 6 Invasive Plant FEIS. Current inventories indicate that invasive plant infestations are broadly distributed and occupy approximately 22,842 acres on the national forest.
The purpose of this project is to provide a rapid and more comprehensive, up to date approach to the control and eradication of invasive plants on National Forest System lands.
