Food Models Activity Cards

Rosemont, IL : National Dairy Council, 2005.
(54 activity cards : double sided, col. ; 28 x 22 cm. + 1 leader guide)

Life-size, color photographs of 200 commonly eaten foods on sturdy cardboard cards designed for use as models in food demonstrations or nutrition-learning activities. Each model contains a picture of the food, its name, and the size of a single serving on one side; the reverse side gives the item's nutrient information in a nutrition facts label format.


Latin American Food Replica Package

Contains 25 food replicas of common foods from the Latin American Food Pyramid, including such items as corn and flour tortillas, brown and white rice, refried and red beans, orange, chicken leg and breast, and beef roast.


Mediterranean Food Replica Package

Contains 20 food replicas of common foods from the Mediterranean Food Pyramid, including such items as yogurt, red wine, avocado, and cheese cubes.


Older Americans Pyramid Kit

Contains 27 food replicas representing the nutritional needs of the elderly. Models include 5 plastic tumblers to demonstrate additional water needs. Also comes with a Nutrition for the Elderly booklet and "Activity Pyramid for People over 60" brochure.


The Great Pyramid Resource Kit

3-D pyramid display case (24-½” x 18-½” base, 20” high) comes with 49 food replicas representing all five food groups plus fats – 9 vegetables, 9 fruit, 10 grains, 9 meat/beans/nuts, 6 milk, and 6 fat. Pyramid display is collapsible and comes with a carrying case, as do the models. Also includes a Pyramid Poster, worksheets, and MyPyramid.gov 50-sheet tear pad.


Vegetarian Pyramid Kit
