Administrative Appeal Decisions

Forest Service line officers make many resource management decisions each year. Many of these decisions are subject to administrative appeal. Usually, all administrative processes established by the Secretary of Agriculture or required by law must be exhausted before a person may bring a court action associated with planning decisions. There are several different regulations under which appeals may be made. Pre-decisional objections can be filed on Healthy Forest Restoration Act projects and forest plan revisions; see Forest Service Pre-Decisional Objection Responses.

All appeals and objections from 2006 on have been posted to these national sites.

A list of each of these regulations and an explanation of their use can be found at: Forest Service Environmental Appeals and Forest Service Pre-Decisional Objections.
