Wapato Lake
Land Protection Planning Study

Project Profile

Purpose of Study:
To determine if the fish, wildlife, and plant resources in the Wapato Lake Study Area should be protected as part of the National Wildlife Refuge System.

Study Area Size and Location:
Approximately 6,400 acres located in Oregon, east of Gaston, south of Forest Grove, primarily in Washington County and south into Yamhill County (see map on right).

Current Status:
We are currently collecting data and developing Preliminary Alternatives. The next step will be to prepare a Planning Update that describes the Alternatives and mail it out for public review and comment.
