The Institute for Federal Printing and Electronic
Publishing was developed to enhance the printing and publishing professions within
the Federal Government. The primary way this is accomplished is through seminars about
printing and electronic publishing policies, procedures, processes, and terminology. The
first class was conducted in September of 1989, and the schedule has grown since that
time.
The Institute's faculty is drawn from the U.S. Government Printing Office
and other Federal agencies that have the expertise needed. Contractors are used to fill a
particular need. Classes include presentations, demonstrations, case studies, discussions,
visual aids, course materials, and hands-on exercises using computers. To encourage
exchanges of information, refreshments are provided before class and at breaks.
Seminars are designed and structured in response to customer needs and
concerns as expressed to Institute staff in surveys, meetings, e-mail and other contacts.
Please let us know if you do not find a class you require. If possible, a class will be
developed and offered.
