Airborne Astronomy Symposium. A symposium commemorating the tenth anniversary of operations of the Kuiper Airborne ObservatoryAirborne infrared astronomy is discussed with respect to observations of the solar system, stars, star formation, and the interstellar medium. Far infrared characteristics of the Milky Way, its center, and other galaxies are considered. The instrumentation associated with IR astronomy is addressed.
