FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS On July 20, 2021, the Committee convened for the purpose of considering the July 15, 2021, arrest of Representative Joyce Beatty, for Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding, during a protest inside a Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C. Representative Beatty was released following her arrest. Representative Beatty informed the Committee she paid a $50 fine prior to her release. The legal proceedings related to her arrest are expected to be resolved with no further action. The Committee voted against impanelling an investigative subcommittee in this matter. The Committee considered the scope and nature of the conduct described above and determined that review by an investigative subcommittee is not required in this matter. The Committee has determined to take no further action in this matter, and upon publication of this Report, considers the matter closed. II. STATEMENT UNDER HOUSE RULE XIII, CLAUSE 3(C) The Committee made no special oversight findings in this Report. No budget statement is submitted. No funding is authorized by any measure in this Report.
